Into the Nothing

I need you
to help me fight away
this darkness that surrounds,
ensnares me in its hateful trap

In an ocean as blue as your eyes,
I'm drowning, reaching my hand
up to the mirrored sky.
But no one's there to save me,
your hands are busy elsewhere.

For a second, your face appears,
ripples just above the surface,
but is lost once again;
your hands hesitate, I see them,
but you draw back, afraid
of what will become of this.

My skin dissolves as I am
lost in the back of your mind.
Don't let me die here
with all of your other
forgotten thoughts.

Author notes

Yeah, I wrote this in my head last night while I was brushing my teeth and listening to Breaking Benjamin. I was inspired by certain lines in a few different songs, but I can't remember which. Title taken from a song of the same name off of the album Dear Agony by Breaking Benjamin.

I really like this ..... I have something similar you might like, but less about me.

This is really powerful, I particularly like the section:

My skin dissolves as I am
lost in the back of your mind.
    Don't let me die here
    with all of your other
    forgotten thoughts.

    Really INTENSE ending.

Good job. No complaints. I enjoyed reading.

    Louise.
