Seasonal Shift.

undefined

Sun rays bounce off each tender leaf,

Poured in colour, and stained with belief.

Relief of Winter worry slowly fades away....

In a haze of melodious birdsong and gentle child's play.

New life creeps from hiding to show the world it's face,

Gardens spring to life in the grace of the sun's rays.

Sunbathe- lazing, reading and swimming

Ultraviolet dreaming, burning and singing.

Memories of swingball, and barbecues, and sand

Mean people recreate fires, and kiss holding hands.

Everyone smelling the freshness of the air around,

Remembers their childhood- hair bleached, and their skin browned.

And falling leaves of varying colours decorate the floor

Underestimate the beauty of the autumn, wish for summer once more.

Times change- light becomes dark, long sleeves begin to appear

Understanding the need for change makes your depression disappear.

Means are not a way to the end, but more to a new start,

Nothing more to say, but that Autumn is at home in my heart.

When the sun hides behind it's own cloud of grey,

Is that when the umbrella hides you from the pouring rain?

Normality drives the pressing need for the daily grind,

Taken? Into daydreams, wishing time would just rewind.

Eternally snuggled in your comfy slacks with a steaming hot drink

Rotating...recycled memories fading faster than you might think.

(The snow litters the ground where the leaves were yesterday,

The one thing we embrace is the promise of Christmas Day.

And after that is over, we join hands for Auld Lang Syne...

And thank heaven for the chance to live it one more time.

And the years cycle their experiences like the trees shed their leaves,

Walk on through the weather- And see what You believe.)

I hope the background doesn't kill your eyes...Was a photo I took myself...

This kind of poem is known as a Triple Threat. It has three parts...

1- Acrostic (First letter of every line spells a message)

2- Word Acrostic (First word of every line makes a mini-poem)

3- The poem itself (Which can rhyme or not.)

Hope you enjoy it...!

The poem is delivered in a challenging format written for reading on more than one level. The poem in itself gives us a glimpse of each season in memories and images while the acrostic letters of each verse underscore the season in which they appear. In the word acrostic we are reminded that times of lives and the world change as do the seasons. There is a rise and fall of vigor for flesh and blood, cultures and climates, but all are renewed in generations or eras or ages.

Great spring Triple acrostic! Love the three messages within it ... the actual poem itself flowed beautifully and I sit here wondering why you do not do Nature more often...

    Now to the summer triple;-
slightly different which is good because it keeps the reader interested and I love the pictures in between each season (clever Idea that I would never have thought of)

Autumn triple acrostic is Fab! The home in your heart and I can tell by the gorgeous imagery that flows from this !

Winter !! Love it love it... exactly what I like to do on a winters day... snuggle up cozy with a hot drink...

Recycled memories fading faster than one may think... this year's gone fast hasn't it?? The quicker its over the better for some eh??

As for that Last picture... well that just sums it up brilliantly!!
With that last Poem at the end which is soo inspiring!! welldone T.. you deserve a goldy for this... the effort that You put into this is just outstanding!!
