Demon and Angel Society

Lili sat at the table with a calm expression slapped to her face as the level of noise in the bar got to decibel of unbearable.  She took a deep breath and smiled as her energy screamed 'look I'm safe and nice and human'.  Her social mask could hold only so long before she had to get up and leave or eat a drunken bitch's soul.  Ash whispered in her ear, 'go for the soul.'

Unfortunately her conscious would not allow her to harm a human without real provication.  She took another sip from her straw as she watched the band play.  If this wasn't Jane's last performance she wouldn't even step into this place.  Racous laughter shouted from the bar as the band played Queen Bitch.  'If she can do it, then she can do it, she makes no false claims'.  That is so me, she thought with a smirk.  The mask slipped a little with the thought of what mischief she could do to the place.

Jane sang the next song.  Her voice strong as she belted out the best of Janis Joplin.  David, the dummer and Jane's main squeeze, kept the beat going with his eyes closed the entire set.  Lili's attention would turn to him from time to time wondering at his ability to work within the magic of numbers and create music.  His movement were rhythmic and poetic.

Her mind began to wander in order to keep her raw nerves from shattering.  I hate humans, she thought for the hundreth time as a few of drunken bitches got up to dance and prance.    It will be over soon, she promised herself.  Only for Jane would she stand this hell hole of humanity.

After the last song, Jane stepped up to the mic during the smattering of applause and announced, "I'd like to thank you all for coming out to The Capri to support us tonight.  The Jameson's will be on hiatus for a while."

Thank the Gods it is over.  Both witches rolled their eyes with relieved sighs.  While Lili's soul was demonic, Jane's was angelic, but they felt the same about too much human energy sucking the life out of them.
