Flipping through pages of petals long lost,
Under mountains of kisses and hugs long forgot,
Piled high with the corpses of hearts that were mine,
Loves never so perfect, we knew them divine,
Many thorns linger still, venom eating away,
At all that is good, though each of us say,
Forgiven have we of all our sins and yours,
Mistakes taken hold, rotting under the floor.
I don’t know the reason, I can’t find a why,
But I do know for certain that regardless of time,
Forgiven to each is a lie to all ears,
For when we say ‘forgiven,’ inside
Remain tears.

great piece! This was haunting and melodic, I loved your last stanza that really made me think. your metaphors were original and engaged me from the start.
Many thorns linger still, venom eating away,
At all that is good, though each of us say,
the poems rhythm and pace were well timed and the rhyme worked well. but much more than the technical jargon I just loved the 'feel' of this piece, the words are so true. It will stay with me just like the poem suggests scars to our soul do.
thank-you for entering good luck

I don't know what to say to that -
'Thanks' would be a start...
Yeah...thank you.
It means a lot.
