Thurs 1:30pm CST, uniformed shooter(s) kill 12, wound 31 in "Readiness" Center prep to deploy for Afghan/Iraq; two killed were civil policeman who shot/killed primary shooter-w/2 handguns 15 rounds each:
Shooter 39-40yo Sgt. Major Nadal Hasan, normally not armed was Army Psychiatrist treating PTSD soldiers; 500 soldiers search Fort/take 3 soldiers into custody by 3:30pm CST, when more shots heard; 3 were released as not having been involved;
Ft. Hood lock down fast, to continue during probes to assure safety of facility before reopening; other US military bases ramp up security: officials say 1 shooter might be personal, but 2 or more likely a conspiracy. Obama promises probe updates as received.

UPDATE:
Base commander issues correction~~ 13 Dead, 30 wounded; witnesses say shooter Hasan lone gunman, still alive, in stable condition but unable to interrogate until later. Female base MP, wounded, brought Hasan down with 4 shots. Some information indicates that Hasan feared being deployed to Iraq in December, expressed fear of killing fellow Muslims.

I remember hearing about this and I was saddened by the events
It is disturbing to read and digest~ Senseless killings~
and he survived to face the wrath of those victim's families
but also by God~ he must face...
it is a shame for what he did

on the news during my lunch break.. terrible very sad news.. i hate to learn of
this type of thing happening here on our own soil, caused by our own brethren.. a very sad day to be certain..

Thank you, Zach. I am in Washington State but I hail from Fort Worth, Texas, and was so dismayed to hear the CNN reports at 11:30am my time. I've checked with family and friends in Texas; fortunately, no one has anyone stationed at Ft Hood.
