See the beautiful bouquet of flowers I carry?
The colors are luscious and luxurious
like your eyes on this day that we marry.
This day when we become an “US”.
But the colors of the bouquet will fade
The hues will soon become dimmed.
We won’t let that happen to our love
Our petals of love won’t be trimmed.
For we love with a pureness known to so few.
Hold it as close as you can
Let’s make sure our love doesn’t end
Promise to always be close at hand.
The dress will not always be so white;
the suit you wear will not last forever.
After not swaying under adversity
We will surely forever be together.
The clothes and the flowers will fade over time,
they will become memories and pictures to see.
But forever the colors of our wonderful love
Will keep us bound in our hearts, you and me.

You write so beautifully. I loved the imagery in this, it turned out to be an amazing piece. Thank you so much for entering.

you've captured this grain of truth with such softness and beauty. And with such vivid imagery, too. This is nothing sort of amazing. Well done, dear poet, and best of luck in the contest.
This is what too many people fail to see today, and it's a shame
My best,

This is very beautiful and filled with so much truth!
It takes a lot to make a relationship last a lifetime.
It's a wonderful feeling to read something like this.
It gives other people whose relationships maybe
suffering some hope that in time things will get better.
I love your thoughts and imagery in this. I wish you all
the best and thanks a lot for sharing your talent with
all of us here!
