remember back when we scribbled with crayons
across pretty coloured paper
and our art work hung on white magnetic fridges
for all the moms to admire
when they came over for tea on
sunday afternoons.
purple skies and blue trees
- a fantastical place
one that requires many moons to reach
where infinite stars clumsily dotted the sky with pin pricks of light
waiting for dawn to devour the night
whole
now i scribble in purple pen across lined paper
while putting off essays and assignments
as my mind wanders away from logic to love in a dizzy state
subconscious designs curl around margins
and fill the unanswered questions
i never understood thesis statements anyway
all i want to prove is that
i'm thinking about you
its not the first time
or the last
but i'll never get sick
of drawing hearts
into notebooks
maybe i should switch back to red crayon
its the one medium you can't erase
or smudge
of scrape away
it just sticks
and that's just how i want it.

"and our art work hung on white magnetic fridges" I like how you put the space rather than put it on a new line. Nice job

Oh, this is so beautiful and touching. i love the purple skies part. Brings a very vivid image to your mind. Also, this is one of my fave bits:
where infinite stars clumsily dotted the sky with pin pricks of light
waiting for dawn to devour the night
