Today At Fort Hood Army Base In Texas

Today a horrible thing
took place in Fort Hood
upon the base in Texas
soldiers and family alike
awaiting for time to leave
were shocked, left in fear
as gun shots rang out
firing randomly at all
several crazed gunmen
went on a total rampage
toys were scattered
destroyed by the bullets
how does this happen
in a country who claims
we're on the highest alert
to prevent such a tragedy
yet now, someones
brother lays dead and
a soldiers friend is wounded
a wife's husband still unknown
what turns a persons heart
into pure hate for mankind
why do this to the very ones
that give themselves in full
to protect our great country
please tell me why
this happened today
but for now I cry tears
as I pray for all those
wounded and some dead
and for their families too
men and women of the Army
about to leave for a tour of duty
going to a place that some
call " Hell on Earth"
why couldn't we protect them.?

    His narrative is very sad
and moving. Coming from a country
    first world causes fright.
I say this because I'm from Brazil
and here there is much violence as
    to know through news reports.
    But never get used to
    tragedies, clash in the deaths
    premature due to differences
    social.
Congratulations on the report, this also
is the function of the poet, to show
    reality.

This is a very strange thing to be doing just hours after this tragedy.
Unless you're studying to be a journalist!
