Ally

Ally taught me a lot of things
growing up. True some I would’ve
picked up anyway on my own.
But lets not split hairs here.

Not right or wrong things.
I had an old man for that.

Stuff like hot wiring a car
rolling a joint running downhill
in the rain, and the cemeteries
night-watchman’s daughter
gave blow jobs.

Eight years older then me
he took me under his wing, walked
me through my teen years.
Now days he’d probably be diagnosed
as a person with
latent homosexual tendencies
towards me.

Even if that was the case.
Him now six-nine
me sixty-one.
I still wouldn’t have the balls
to question him on it, and.
I wouldn’t recommend you do either.

The ways of the human heart are dark and deep. I have loved other men but it has always been associated with their willingness to back me up in a fight. I guess violence stands in for sex as the glue in hetro male love. Good poem.
