The Yak

In high Tibet the solemn yak
Is seldom seen dressed up in black.
He likes to clump
From bump to lump.
I doubt you'll ever hear him quack.

What did you think

I do think that a solemn yak,
    even if not wearing black,
    is more inclined to clump
    than jump -
though of information I've a lack!

NO NO no more limericks - for me I mean - I'm enjoying yours!

    Hetty the haughty old yak
Didn't laugh, 'cos her face pack would crack
It was all caked in mud
    From chewing the cud
But her muscles were no longer slack!

    Good one

    Sue

Very much fun! Didn't know they used a face pack. I think their tresses could use conditioner and a good blow dry.

    Dear Purrsanthema,

The yak, whose solemn, shaggy face
    is woefully devoid of grace,
in such high place, I do aver,
he's lucky to have so much fur.

    Imagine, in that mountain air,
how he would feel if he were bare.
Methinks that then he'd not grow old
but probably would die of cold.

Applause for your Yaketty tribute to this hardy, hirsute creature.
    Love and hugs, XXX Hugh.

Thank you dearly! It's good to see you back again! I hope you're feeling as well as you sound or actually very much better.

This is a true inspiration!! I loved it!!

In Lhasa there is little lack
Of beauty in the erstwhile yak,
So lovely that they’re carried up,
And with one brute I married up,
So now you know why I smoke crack.

He's married to a dainty yak
Whose eyeliner is suave and black
      And her bikini,
      Strange and teenie
Makes him long for dull Iraq.

Humorous... I wonder if "He likes to jump" would be more fitting than clump?

Do yaks jump much? Somehow I envisioned him clumping around on those odd hoofs of his and bumping up to the other lumpish long hairy beasts. Maybe a bit more tinkering is in order.

A young yak from Northern Tibet
Has not learned to read as of yet
    He flunked out of school
    Is known as a fool
An issue he'll one day regret

Somehow I think that one would be especially cute with a yak reclining holding a book upside down and trying to read it, with a quizzical expression on his face! thankz so much for the input and the read and the limerick!

A delightful little poem in an unusual meter, not sure what an iambic limerick is called

    Keep 'em up
