She's So Amazing

She's so amazing
And we're so proud
We listened to words
Such as excellent
From teacher after teacher.
History and english degrees
Were spoken about with ease
It was hard to believe
She's only twelve.
She's in the top five
In the year
we were told
It was hard to hold
Back a  proud tear.
She's two year levels ahead
Of her age
There's not too many
at the stage
We were told.
She could do her gcse
Exam now
One teacher told us
She's so focused
So commited
They said.
And I thought back
To long ago
When she was the child
They all pitied.
She's so amazing
And we're so proud.

Author notes

A poem about my daughter whose parents evening we went to tonight. As the title says she is so amazing - even more so as she is mildly dyslexic and was once very seriously ill indeed so much so she lost her ability to speak and understand amongst many other things so she is truely So Amazing

Please tell me what you think

thank you. yes we are very proud of her indeed. she works incredibly hard and whilst i thought she was doing fairly well i didn't quite realise she was doing this well. she has struggled in so many ways all her life really due to her dyslexia and the autistic encephalitus she had when she was four and then recoverec from. She is as the poem says - so amazing - kids are though aren't they?
And yes she is incredibly sweet and incredibly good natured. She would never be horrible to anyone. when we went to parents evening alot of the kids were calling out to her. She's very popular particularly amongst the quiet shy timid ones and those with special needs - she is incredibly kind and patient with them . -thats how we have brought her up though not to be prejudiced etc Thanks for taking time to read and comment much appreciated
