(A song)
The day I first met Julie
She was standing in the rain
And I felt somehow she knew me
In a way I can’t explain
Something free and something wild
Flew into my heart
And took this lonely gypsy child
And tore his soul apart
Chorus:
My sweet Julie in the rain
Were we just two passing trains?
Will I ever find you again?
My sweet Julie in the rain
The night I first held her
All the stars fell from the skies
And they danced just like a million,
Tiny diamonds, in her eyes
Time stood still, and all the world
Forgot that we were there
A solitary boy and girl,
Building castles in the air
Chorus:
My sweet Julie in the rain
Were we just two passing trains?
Will I ever find you again?
My sweet Julie in the rain
Bridge:
But torn between two different worlds
Victims both of circumstance
We might have been, a king and Queen
If we’d taken that one chance
The last time I saw Julie
She was still there in the rain
I guess like me, she’ll always be
Waiting for a train
And every lonely sun that sets
Reminds me of her eyes
And those magic, filing cabinets
That she said were in the skies
Where all our thoughts, and all our dreams
And all our rainbows lay
In perfect harmony, you’ll see
They’ll all make sense one day
And I love you, my sweet Julie
I’ll love you ‘till the day I die
And I’ll be waiting at the station
When that last train’s coming by
And if you’ve got no special plans,
I’ll meet you as before
And through the raindrops, holding hands
We can walk forever more
Chorus:
My sweet Julie in the rain
Were we just two passing trains?
Will I ever find you again?
My sweet Julie in the rain

Friend you need to get this song published. I sense this is for the lady of your dreams that you write about. You construct your emotions vividly in this write.

Your talent shines here. Beautiful song. I assume you have notes to go with it, too bad they can't be shown here. I tried writing a song once, because a tune popped into my mind - never finished it ... must be a innate skill that one has. I can play musical instruments, but can not sing in tune! - thus my problem is exposed. -- Bonita

I've got this all together but it needs proper arrangement, a skill I lack lol, i can hear it in my head yes, i can play it on the guitar ok, but as with most of my songwriting it needs proffessional assistance...i'm just an old folk singer after all...
Some are fortunate to have it all but they are a rare breed, Elvis was the King, but he never wrote a single song; neither did 'Ol' Blue Eyes'...!
I guess we all need each other in one way or another.
Thank you for the comment

Well how clever is this song ...
and who wouldn't love it? It has all the makings of a first-class hit and love when shared with this intensity can never be wrong!~ Your lyrics have a warmness about them that is encouraging and with out all the nitty-gritty details one can loll between the lines and enjoy the sense of peace regardless of still waiting at the station~ in the rain! I loved it!
