The brook gurgles happily among it's bed,
while the lazy days of summer bow their head,
for its time for the tall colored gowns of green,
to paint themselves into what they used to dream.
Cold, bitter breath turns the rain to snow
as the leaves depart to the anxious ground below;
so they wave goodbye, but for a brief season
as they leave the trees for an unselfish reason.
The winds help the snow cover warm, bare land,
as the songs of the Earth sing with natures band.
The sun smiles warmly and melts the Earth,
as colors spring open to replenishing birth.

The images of the seasons are conveyed with warmth and poignancy, but my favorite lines are 3 and 4 which are just amazing: "for its time for the tall colored gowns of green, to paint themselves into what they used to dream." As this speaks of the transition from summer to fall, it brings to mind the maturation of a soul into its majority where it may finally realize the dreams and preparation of stalwart adolescence.

A perfect description of the passing seasons. It was most colorful and very identifiable, especially here in the northwest. Beautiful.
