There are the memories of feasts long ago.
Spirits of the father, mother and brother,
in a busy kitchen preparing our souls
for Thanksgiving.
(Priceless)
Nine dinner plates on a table set for six.
An island laden with gifts
for the palate.
(Buffet Style)
Roasters of turkey and sweet potatoes,
evidence of the bounty of our lives.
(Second serving encouraged)
A gentle toast to those no longer here,
served with all of the trimmings.
(Included)
A prayer of thanks.
(NO charge)

with a family as big as mine there is never enough room to set out places for those who are no longer arround, everyone uses the extra space to spread out more. Now that seems disrespectful somehow... anyways, interesting entry, good luck in the contest!
