There are echoes that sing memory,
drums keeping heartbeat sacred
and there is sway
in branches higher than our knowing.
Twinkle without star;
your glowing tresses blessed
with feathered presence.
Dance, Sister,
dance!
There is a new shining over Qu’Appelle’s moon;
weary heads rise - eyes following colors
as falling sorrow twirls
fog swirls within winged celebration
turning gray to auburn leaf sky
and howl becomes heavenly note.

Author notes
This is for Carol... This is to honor the memory of her Mother and it was also inspired by a poem written by Carol
"Qu’Appelle’s Moon"
http://allpoetry.com/poem/4339395
which struck me as a sad poem written about a sad place, so I think that her Mother will shine a Heavenly light on sad places such as that now, after her passing...
I think Carol will understand what I am trying to give her in this piece...
Love ya, my friend

I think of Carol as someone with strong ideals and beliefs, and i imagine that her make-up came from many seasons, changes, struggles, triumphs. The end of life has an unforgettable moment for us, it marks us as if we thought it would never come, but always knew it was there. So we call upon the strength we have gathered and we need it, until the joy we earned from the care invested comes to assure us, the end of life is also a beginning, we carry on with the meanings we take, the love we received, and a new sense of self. Wonderful poetry, for a truly remarkable woman...PK

This is such a wonderful, tender, knowing piece, straight from your heart to Carol's, my Friend. Beautifully done, Lynda. I'm pleased you mentioned Carol's poem, too, as it was one
I had somehow missed reading. So thank you, for both gifts. Good luck in William's contest, Sweetie.
