O Shine
sometimes its so dark here
and the world screams pain
sometimes I find myself
Crying in the sad sin rain
So I go to church
And I sing
Shine
cause my hearts on fire
Shine
O please reach out for me
Shine
Lord Im commin home to you
O Shine
Sometimes it becomes so cold
and nothing can feel soul
Sometimes we get down on my knee
lay it all out for the Lord
look down
And pray
Shine
cause your hearts on fire
Shine
O please reach out for us
Shine
Lord we're commin home to you

This is just beautiful and oh so lyrical. Is it a song? It is so praise worthy as the praise you gave in it. Thank you for allowing me to read your nice poetry. Keep penning fine poet.

Sometimes religion is the only thing that keeps some people going in a bad time. My religion has kept me going through the darkest nights and hardest fights of my life. It is what has kept me, a lot of times, from down right killing myself.

awesome!
wonderful...I love it! An editorial note...I get down on my knee...you most likely meant this in the plural...if not, i think "drop to one knee" works better and gives a stronger image...also...try not to focus too much on timing within your rhyme...your short, often-time one-word lines give you a lot of flexibility with boycotting any particular meter & rhythm...keep at it. I look forward to reading more of your work...God Bless!
