As purity becomes sullied,
those demon thoughts laugh at my innocence.
My growth has been marred
and all my dreams are now memories.
Within these folds fear howls,
as the drip drip of insanity
becomes a death knell
of fractured spirit.
Freedom has been denied
and a beautiful life turns,
to endless swirling frowns
and vicious scowls,
that mock my surrender.
I have begged and pleaded
for release,
from the jailor of darkness,
for the truth explodes
and I'm left with these tears of silence;
foundations shaken.
Sighs of lost passion gag
as this fear saturates
and future's chaos
waves goodbye
to the peace
that once was my world.

I'm curious! Is this what your life is like at the moment. Has your life turned around... Shattered? Or are you just writing from your imagination?
It sounds/seems that this is what you were feeling when you wrote this poem.
The poems good though. It makes me think, which is a good thing.
I think I might put you in my favourites. -
Such clear images and a story that does justice to the picture. Very cutting and to the point.

Well, I have read and read again...and again. I need help, or does that defeat the object of poetry? I think not, but I still need help! Clueless Mike!

Skill shines; it really does. Perfect fit for the prompt with a great message so skilfully expressed! Great work!
