london bridge in a rainstorm

i told them it wouldn't last centuries

reticulated water in hand,

i paused and listened

light bounced off his shoulder

as attention turned to the screen

you have to admit they are good at destroying things ...

heavy sigh brought forth hosts of hosanna's

gesticulating, brought a withering smile

in my own image, didn't i get that one wrong!

readjusting antenna the scene welled into blasphemy

oh, for my own sake!

i noted the irony, planted firmly as sandaled feet shuffled

back and forward, head shaking

they don't believe you died for them ...

quizzical, almost a smirk, if indeed He was allowed

well, the quote of the day was, father forgive them wasn't it?

nodding, i replied

at that stage they hadn't much time to do so much wrong though ...

a slap of a hand on forehead

they make up for it now, just look at it!

can you see how the forests burn,

my tree's ache with destitute branches,

arms outstretched

no one cares, they cut them down regardless

heading the sacrificial table is a pitcher of wine

He indulges, sitting back down

yes but tree's are one thing

human life, it's precious

you said so, i mean i've read it ...

the voice over declares war on suffering

intimating hope

see that?

it's enough to make me pull wings off angels!

what do any of them remember about hope?

only what you taught them i guess ...

i taught them not to mess with things,

be accepting of what they had,

i didn't put brains in all of them, a reason for that

too much brings despair

too little brings ability to see beauty

neither should be specific without the other

you must have given them democracy?

long snort, derision again brings an amen

and lets see where that got them shall we?

war upon brothers, sisters

war between families

drugs, sex and rock 'n' roll

no moderation there

and why don't they see behind presidential seals

look at his eyes, nothing there is real!

his face is sort of bland for the leader of the free world ...

aha! like begets like, remember the father?

now if it had been me

opening talks would have meaning

not platitudes, i would have done the 40 days again

if i thought the devil was a moveable adversary

not made of steel with billowing smoke

the new one is better i think?

reviewing the screen, he sighs

none will see past color

most will see color to confine

he has doubt

i have doubt

but you are you?

surely you can't see failure?

brightness dawned as he turned down the sound

i am not blind you see

just tired of the comedy

why only the good die young

so why fucking bother at all ... oops sorry (looks for penitence)

because there are too many reasons to hate

and because i can forgive, (frowning) as i do you at this moment

i believe you can cancel the cable

there are somethings i can never teach

like love thy neighbor ... i know you tried ...

no my child, just honest politics

Tongue in cheek for sure ...

and what's funny is that it reminds me of "The Book of Daniel". The Minister was always talking to Jesus.

Anyway, it's an intriguing write. Cynical, but intriguing.

The final line doesn't quite seem to go with the rest of this. I'll have to think about it and check back later. Perhaps I'm just not tracking well again.

Anyway, you've done a yeoman's job turning this out in such a short time. We were only talking about it a short time ago. Kudos on a job well done.

Sometimes it works that way for me too ...

although not nearly as often lately. I think the pain interferes with my cognition. It's a lot harder to write when I'm not feeling well.

If anything comes to mind, I'll let you know, but my ability to write is limited just now, so no doubt my ability to think logically is also affected.

Thanks Jim, I appreciate your help, but don't want to be a pest, I will have a little thought on it myself C

I've never been the bashful sort ...

and if you were being a pest, you'd know.

I was struggling with a way to end it and tie up the aspects, I'd appreciate anything you suggest, I am afraid that the majority of my writes tend to come out within minutes, that's the way my muse works.
