scrolling beneath breathlessness ~
breath-held burrow in venal wander~
is tangible realm of righteous indignation
that simmers in inordinate ways
of being present and palpable
but not precise in its speech
nor rhythm
nor rhyme
but, is a poem humming a furnace
of feelings that might catch fire
like coal under pressure, or flicker
of ash dropped down in a dry stick place
and it shall take but a shallow sigh,
a sorrowful moan, a glad gasp
for it to echo blue flame as phrases crawl
up the throat to a skyful of mouth
to be recited under a decadent moon,
a long lingering luna beacon,
a far away star pining under its pin
on navy velvet universe
a ballad dancing in set motions of language;
weaving, swaying on loves pluck and ping
like grasses in a summer’s breeze or a rack of geese
returning home to nest in the soughing derby rushes
and nestling next to its beloved who breathes
in hushed translations of desire
a strong drummed funereal dirge of stanzas'
demanding notice from dark gorge below
the waging of wars in bombardier swoops
and swallows of fear, or faith; or feeble,
sad-stepped, string of staccato’d and black
on rough linen lay of a lines
a free verse laugh of language
dancing like a blossom in a near-rough wind,
like autumn arias hitting the highest notes
and a chorus of earthy bass notes of nuances
nestling together in background passages
of a reader’s right to own such literature
this is a poet’s heart that is speaking, a soul spinning
symbols of spirit’s authentic ache
that has found way of burning to heal:
a re-ignition of something ancient that speaks

A poem of style, substance and import and withall beautifully crafted. It would be churlish [imo] to cherry-pick favourite bits since it a marvellously integrated piece of writing. It was struck by the sheer velocity and energy of the writing - out loud it is magnificent. Without doubt a poem I enjoyed reading immensely.

Yes. I most certainly must agree. This IS a Poet's heart that speaks. Profoundly. Good luck in the contest, Sweetie.
