upon their shining steeds?
Where is all the honor,
reflecting from others deeds?
Do we live in a world;
an ever turning wheel,
where everyone lies
and everyone steals?
You take up shield and lance
and stride into the battlefield,
Only to be slapped down
and trodden under someones heel.
Where is the world we yearn for,
where the good guy always wins?
Or does the villain walk away free
before the battle even begins?
"There are times, my friend,
When no matter how brave the Noble Knight."
There are times in this world,
that no matter how you struggle, you will lose the fight.
Author notes
quote is my prompt...
"There are times, my friend,
When no matter how brave the Noble Knight
No matter how swift his Gallant Steed
No matter how pure the Maiden he would rescue
No matter how Just the cause for which he fights
There are times, my friend,
When the Dragon will still win."

Im trying something a little different in this write. I am alluding to the dragon winning in metaphor. It might be something you like, it might not be, but inspiration from this piece comes from whats going on in my life.

I realized upon rereading this piece that the last stanza of it was repetitive.

I truly enjoyed reading this take on the prompt.
Best of luck with it.

Glad to see you back writing again, son...and a good write it is..A question alot of ask these days...Where some people can manipulate the system and win, when it is most fraudulent how they do it when they know they are wrong all along...Your rhyme and flow is excellent...All the best in the contest!
