I see the use of red is supposed to be indicative of the blood that fills us.. however it is just a little repetitive for me. Red red red... it loses its meaning.

I think youll find the reference to red pints is "Lion Red Beer", that would be my guess. Consuming that much beer would also tend to leave one a little red faced as well I expect.............. -
I'm not sure if this is humerous or confronting; either way, I think I quite like it. If it's humor, it's very black comedy. A very interesting write - the eight red pints, wine or blood? It changes the meaning of the poem drastically, depending on which way you look at it, and that's intriguing.
