The Web of Darkness

Like a Chameleon, I blend in to the night
Shadows - my friends they hold me so tight.
How did I get here, to this dank dark hole?
I’m caught in her webbing – let go of my soul.

I can see the light, but it's slipping away
Clinging to memories of a past life or day
Now only the moon does let my eyes see
Why did the sirens call mesmerize me?

I call to my savior, but the sound cannot leave
Nothing passes my lips - unless it’s a scream.
My skin is turning all mottled and gray
Soon my life will be withered away.

Stuck in this chasm, stalagmites like bars
Black Widow poison has left me with scars
The venom - that now - courses my veins
Holds me to her and all of her bane

The corpses that line the walls of this hell
Show me my future and nothing is well
I try to escape but my mind is in thrall
And from my tormentor my ears hear the call

Torturous dreams – the calling of fright
This is the time that I slip through the night
Almost sunrise – I try to see Sun
The sirens’ call comes and I’ve nowhere to run
