Dream Life

I've been quitting for two years now
and I have yet to stop.
This is what we do.
We make promises
but we don't have to the strength
to fufill them.
We say things but we never seem to mean them.

Inside we are all living a dream life.
And I have yet to complete a goddamn thing
when procrastinating is hardly punished.
And my grip slowly gets looser and looser
until every hope and dream I ever had

slips

through my fingertips and is lost
with all the other dreams that haunt me at night.
I don't have the slightest hope that I will ever achieve
anything.

Quitting has never been so bitter to me
and laziness has never been less sweet.
