I look up what do I see?
Parts of the whole that is me
Luminescent and starry eyed
Full of conscience and surprise
Creeping about 3:00 a.m
Aimless directions, doodles and sketches
Streams of consciousness, pearls of wisdom
A world still turning and sweet-mouthed girls
Some of them tall and so scary
Makes me hard and rather wary
Wearing my martyrdom like a badge of honour
Alice B Toklas and far-fetched horizons
Dreams so vivid and filled with C.G.I's
And I wonder why
Fame and fortune a convenient lie
Confusing and abhorrent
Wrapping my ego in a tinfoil crown
Eye-liner and mascara
Trans-Atlantic cinema-scope
She-males and girly boys what hope is left?
Take you on a another trip
Right over to the other side
Tastes like sour grapes
Speed is king
Take you on another trip
Still tastes like sour grapes
Take me on, take you on
Who will keep living, you or me?
Who will even be around to see?
Take your picture for my scrap book
Too damned scared now to take a peak
Roll it and smoke it
Here comes Noah's flood
Filled with everybody else's sweat and blood
As they perform their magic stamp your feet
There's enough to go around for all
We're all standing out on the brink
Wearing our armour with another scoring
Scars and wounds will often tell
They catch the light so very well
Stick around and I'll let you down
I'm not the one wearing such a frown
I can lay prostrate and wash your your feet
If that's what it takes
I can wear a crown of paper thorns
Like the one I've always worn
If that's still what it takes
My loss, your gain
It's all the same to me
Take you on a another trip
Right over to the other side
Tastes like sour grapes
Speed is king
Take you on another trip
Still tastes like sour grapes
Take me on, take you on
I look up what do I see?
Parts of the whole that is me
Illuminescent and starry eyed
Full of conscience and surprise
I can't look you in the eye
Amphetamines, absinthe and gasoline
Cherry bombs and cash cows, each one for a dollar
Sorrows and tomorrows lay in a heap
Short and sweet and gone to dust
It's all the same to me
Still tastes like sour grapes
Take me on, take you on
Closer and closer
And further away
Over the rainbow
Beg when you pray
Here and there
There and everywhere
Too much to bear
Take me with you
Anywhere...

This was interesting. It has a nice lyrical feel to it. Though I disliked the parts where you rhymed, it felt very basic.
Illuminescent and starry eyed
- "Illuminescent" isn't really a word.
Confusing and abhorent
- "abhorent" should be "abhorrent".
I can lay prostrate and wash your your feet
- This line is fantastic. It just jumped out at me.
Too much to bare
- "bare" should be "bear".
Thank you for entering.

This was spectacular. Well written and organized. I like the word choice and the way this was written reminded me of a layout for a song with the repition of 2 stanzas. Great job, thank you for entering and good luck.
