Wind whispers through the maple trees branches,
sweat clings to the back of my neck.
We are all running from door step to door step
as we gather our sweet treats.
My legs move forward, step by step
as my costume clings to my skin.
Anticipation crawls over my skin;
The night looks as if magic is just waiting to happen.
The pale moon stares at me from the sky,
hiding behind soft feathery clouds
almost as if thats the moons costume;
I smile upward and continue with the others.
My favorite night- Halloween.

"The night looks as if magic is just waiting to happen." This is a perfect line!! Every Halloween this thought run through my mind. I love the feeling of just thinking that something exciting could happen. You did a great job with this.

Great imagery!
You did very well on this poem, and for that I give you total props. However, it does go over the 10-12 line limit of the contest. I'm very sorry, but I must remove it from the contest. Again, good work and effort...great imagery!
