My twisted torso won’t pop back into place.
The music notes dancing
around the airspace between our heads
was enough to create a symphonic big bang
into our oblivion together.
I changed my appearance three times,
progressively getting worse
to test your eyesight
and to my dismay
Your vision is broken.
I have no room to talk though,
seeing as though you have completely blindsided me
with your charm;
And oh, that smile.
I didn’t care who was around.
When you flashed me that look
my blood turned into a million butterflies,
frantically racing to a hiding spot somewhere in my circulatory system.
Their wings tickled my veins as
I almost went into cardiac arrest.
We hid under my blanket, close enough
to exchange heartbeats.
Your fingertips brushed the bare skin of my leg,
and I shivered for several moments
as my body urged itself closer to yours.
I wanted every inch of my skin to graze yours,
but I am still unconvinced that you share all of this.
I know how intense I can get,
once I know what I want.
If anything in your life changes,
don’t feel bad for leaving me in the past.
I have enough emotional snippets to dwell on
for two hundred and twelve days.
Still with a million butterflies to keep me company.
Author notes
[TWO]
Ending bothers me.
I felt like it needed to continue forever.
