Dreams Of Long Ago

Missing image
The wind rattled the window
      panes,
Leaves blanketed the walkway on
      the tree lined lane.
Gas lamps glowed with a soft,
      foggy light,
Streets dimly lit, a strangely
      beautiful sight.
Suddenly a yearning to go
      walking alone,
Smiling with sweet memories
      of home.

Author notes

I truly have these memories of home as I see these scenes. Oh for those wonderful memories from long ago!

      HELLO DRIFTING CLOUD

Thank you ever so much for coming by and reading. In my home town there were the old gas lights which are still there on a bovlevard which runs the length of main street down the center of the street. I used to love foggy evenings and the glow of the lights in the mist. 's

      HELLO A63 ANGEL

Thanks ever so much! Yes, those memories from those of us who are old enough to remember are precious. They were hard times, many of the luxuries of today were not with us then but still the old pot-belly stove in the living room, the oil lamps lit, so very special.

    Bravo Kevin

If it werent for the memories so blessed from days past where would we be today .So many were never given such memories and walk in a daze today looking back on pain and sorrows how do we help them find such memories today to help carry them through .
