Out of the Darkness

Out of the darkness.
Into the light.
I waited for that moment.
Waited til the moment was right.
I was his for the taking.
But he refused the bait.
What kind of move was he making?
If he was willing to wait.
Out of the blackness.
Into the white.
He was my dream's star.
Seems like in real life he was meant for small things.
I see the potential but it won't take him far.
Not with what my future has to bring.
Out of the darkness.
Into the light.
I told him of my intentions.
He decides he wants to take flight.
Searching for him was harder than it sounded.
He was quicker than I anticipated.
Especially when I was stuck here, grounded.
I'm not about to let him complicate it.
Out of the blackness.
Into the white.
He never thought that it would be.
That my intellect was so bright.
Such a shame he was so easy to trick.
They come and go as quickly as the next.
He forgets that mud sticks.
What did he honestly expect?
