I'm letting go just like the
Elegantly golden, rubescent leaves
From their brown, delicate spines.
The fragrance of autumn swirls through
The fresh, crisp air as my ashes
Crunch beneath the onlooker's feet.
A cold rain washes away what the summer
Left behind, cleansing the slate for what
Is to come, and what will become.
The essence of death can be felt, although
While freezing the past with icy stares,
We only make way for our awaited renewal-
Once warmth melts the glacial frost.

Author notes
While Autumn sheds her leaves, to make way for Winter's frigid ice- I've decided that it's time for me to discard past memories, freeze them over and start new, just as the ice eventually melts and buds emerge upon branches. It's an endless cycle of renewal within nature, and I believe it's time for my renewal as well.

Beautiful and well written piece. Love the way you thought about life and seasons, because I to, believe they go hand in hand. Thanks for sharing. Good luck in the contest. Take care and have a great day.

I love this... so emotional and yet closely linked with imagery of nature and the seasons. I think you can do it~
