what wild and crazy
adventures we could have
if we had lids on our brains
and could lift them
and switch them
then hop on a train
like hobos, we could be,
travel the country for free
in the bellies of railcars
riding tracks
that traipse trails
past willows and bales
or we could sail! we could sail!
in a glass-bottomed pail
so clear we could see
all the creatures
of the sea
and catch one to eat
or we could go on a quest
save a damsel in distress
or simply pretend
we could fly
or transmogrify
or just go out for ice-cream
but the best adventures
the ones that truly last
are the ones in your head
never ending
always changing
just use your imagination
