The Following Silhouette

She’s looking into the void.
She looks behind her to see nothing,
But the thickness bears an eerie feeling.
She can feel the presence in the distance.
Something’s happening in this instance.

It’s been a voyage so far,
And again she’s alone in this car.
She’s looked in the rear view mirror before,
And every now and then sees a door.
It’s large in size.
There’s something in disguise.
It begins to echo her last tears.
It reminds her of those very fears.
She puts her foot on that pedal,
But all she hears is screeching metal.
At night it’s at the edge of her bed,
And it’s looking to be fed.
Standing upon the lies,
Hoping she won’t fly, it whispers as she cries.
She tried to leave it in the dust,
But that car is dead, covered in rust.

She’s never been the type to give up,
And this thing is far from letting up.
She confines it to her mind;
For the truth, she constantly seeks to find.
That man’s silhouette is large,
And she’s heard them address him as “Sarge”.

She’s broken that mirror now!
That broken car is finally in tow.
On foot she’s now gone;
For miles, she looks for her front lawn.
That thing does travel behind.
It’s ugly and maligned,
But she continues in perseverance.
She looks beyond the appearance.
Now she’s going somewhere,
And that silhouette can no longer leave a tear.
Step-by-step, she knows where to go.
She feels the airflow,
But neither to the left or the right will she turn.
She’s hard headed, stubborn!
During the travel the silhouette has become smaller.
It is quite a brawler,
But it can’t harm her.
For many, she’s become a leader.
It’s her foretold calling,
And that silhouette knows it’s coming.

It’s her past,
But she’s continued to walk steadfast.
Her reward will come in time.
With faith, she continues to climb.
She can’t give up now;
To God, she’s made that solemn vow.
She’s protected all the way!
This is why she won’t stray.
Her past, the following silhouette;
She’ll never fret,
And she’ll never regret.
She’s been relieved of her debt.
At the cross, her broken heart and sights were reset.
