Words Spoken Live Forever

Too often words are like
the beginning of a rainbow,
beautiful and soft;
yet end up like the darkness
of approaching storm clouds,

disguised...

Deception comes in many flavors,
yet the taste never changes;
unable to swallow
or consume

by another...

Words spoken live forever,
not to be removed by ones self,
only by the forgiving hand
of their intention

and so I humbly ask...

    I agree word can cause pain or pleasure. Your discription of the effects of how they are use is soft gentle and easy. Like being cradled in ones hands or arms.Well written.

    Words are the most damaging things I have ever known. Also the most wonderful. In some peoples hands they are a lethal weapon. This is an insightful look at the other side of words. well done

    So I humbly ask...So often words from the mouth are the most hurtful when the brain is not engaged in keeping them to ourselves when talking to ones we love. So often we take that person for granted because we are related, or got married or in a serious relationship. We often think that even when times get bad, and we ourselves are the ones causing the problems, that they will stick by us. How sad, when they leave that we are left looking in an empty mirror, seeing our own reflection of just how ashamed of ourselves, that we can't stand to look at the person we became.

    Great poem...says so much! Thank you for sharing!

  • Caustic. Realistic.

    "Words Spoken Live Forever" brandishes the sword of in justice; a curse of
    egoic treachery out for re venge without a clue on who's who or who's hurting who!

    I know this poem all too well, both as the Curse and the Cursed by the Word!

    These wounds last more than a lifetime and wound more than the original
    wounded.

    "Words Spoken Live Forever" wields a mighty shield: the author asks for pardon!
    A grace that some intellectual giants know not of, nor would think to employ even if...

    I am glad I wondered in Your garden of Humilite and Candor.

    With gratitude and honor for the ability to ask...

    stay
    for ever

    I was really struck by the beauty of the first verse. It conjured such a vivid picture in my mind. So true - Words once spoken can linger forever. I good reason to choose them wisely. They can build up, or they can tear down. Too often it is the latter. I was impressed with your ending... it left us wondering what those words would be. Great suspense - and we'll never know the answer. (

    This is a strong premise, "words spoken live forever". I liked where you went with "beginning of a rainbow, beautiful and soft", for spoken words are so often like that in the beginning of a relationship. The transitions in the poem to "storm clouds", "disguised", "deception", and then to "forgiving" are quite relatable. You presented the power of spoken words here vividly, and in the end there is much tenderness in your three dots...

    Very nicely written. The structure helped the fluency and there were some lovely lines like:

    'Deception comes in many flavors,
    yet the taste never changes;'

    Which was absolutely spot on.
