Life was running smoothly
with happiness in the air,
then came a sudden storm
that brought us deep despair.
Mom was rushed to the hospital
and with hope she would endure,
many trials and tests blew in
that our family couldn't ignore.
The chill of cancer and surgeries
as the storm was still in sight,
a dark cloud of change occured
and it happened overnight.
The challenges the wind threw us
while the funnel clouds grew,
we were able to come together
even though the dark winds blew.
Fears of what could happen
when more surprises came to be,
as a family we stand together
through the storms dark misery.
