Looking back down memory lane,
everything seems so quiet.
It seems so strange,
what have I forgotten?
It's right there, in the back of my mind,
but it's blurred by something more.
I'm not sure what I can't find,
or what I'm forgetting for.
Memories blocked by tears and pain,
I can't seem to remember this.
My umbrella musn't have blocked the rain,
I guess it's a good thing to forget.

Ahh indeed it is,
life can be dealt with much
easier if we let things go,
instead of contemplate
on the bad things over
and over in our minds--
makes it impossible to
exude!

The tension of the title played against the somewhat wistful recollections of the poem works wonderfully!

Love this line!!! It illustrates the constant strain within in us as we consolidate our past to present. Sometimes we just are who we are, and leave the past where it is......

great write. sometimes it really is good to forget, but it is of my oppinion that if we forget, we dont learn. and if we dont learn, whats to stop us from doing again whatever we have forgotten?

Oh wow, this is so me... heh, I love this. I cannot think of a better way to sum up so much of what I feel, it is like you just gave me a description for something I can't explain. This is amazingly written I love the metaphors, beautiful but always in keeping with the meaning behind the piece. If it were my contest this would be gold
