So many times I’ve sat down to write you
Each time I’ve left with the letter unwritten
What do I tell you? The unblemished truth?
Or should I write the words you want to hear?
Long days have progressed into a year
This is not how I imagined it would be
So I sit in the sunshine among the long grass
My typewritter sitting on its little case
You have asked me what is in my heart
No matter what I say, I fear the future
Thus I must strengthen, fortify my will
Then tell you what I believe is the truth
My heart I offered to you so long ago
My devotion was yours from the start
Now you ask me to be with you forever
Yes! So if you wish, take me, I am yours

Ms. Rikki, first of all, thank you for the points to get this contest going, and second, I have to say I really really like this. I love the imagery, the NON-rhyme, but metered verse os just alive and lovely. Thank you for taking this time to write, and I wish you all the best.
love,

Ah, after much procrastination the answer is a resounding "YES!" Good for the both of you. Sometimes it takes a spell to come to what we already know. This is a clever letter poet. I did not expect the yes, especially after the span of time that had passed. Best wishes to you in life and this contest.
Much Love & Respect ♥
Renee
