I'm so thankful for the special people in my life -
my husband and children,
my family and friends and all who know me.
doctors, nurses, dentists and opticians,
who use their skills to care for others;
they surely deserve more recognition.
I'm thankful that we can go on vacation,
relax and unwind, explore the countryside,
visit museums and galleries, go to the theatre
and a hundred different things.
I'm so thankful for the gift of poetry,
that by putting thoughts down in black and white,
we can use this wonderful tool to paint a picture
made up of different colours that blend together,
like a piece of music that flows from the heart.
I'm so grateful for life itself,
for the many opportunities to give and to receive,
for faith in God, my rock and my salvation,
who carries me through when times are hard,
and for unexpected blessings along the way.
