My Scars

Danger isn't the name of the game
but it's there all the same
1000 pounds of hardened muscle with a brain that doesn't always want to coperate
and this is what you get

There's one on my wrist
where a rope kissed
He was big, mean and he was red
mighta been part thourobred
The rope wrapped around
and didn't let go as I hit the ground

There's one on my chin
you can see it when I grin
This one was given to me by one that had a screw loose
he had no excuse
but that didn't stop him from leaving me laying
blood everywhere and gravel spraying

That same horse left one on my leg that goes down to bone
but this time it wasn't from getting thrown
it came from a metal barrel at 35 miles an hour
I guess I just couldn't keep up with his power.

And there's one on my arm
I got it at Cazaboo Farm
the horse I was on was new and ran like a fright train
and I never thought about consequences or pain
but that day the ole boy didn't stop and he couldn't jump
he got half way up before he landed on me with a thump

There's a few more scattered around
some from getting hung up, some from hitting the ground
here and there they decorate me
and where they come from makes me what I'll be

    Wow, this gives me a fear to never ride horses lol. They are pretty large and those hooves can really do some damage. Scars are scars no matter which way you look at it. You did a wonderful job with this piece, and I absolutely loved your rhyme. Thank you so much for entering.

      lol they really aren't that scary. they're big and bossy but they have a lot of heart. lol i supose they are. I added a new one to my wrist this weekend tho lol. opps. thanks so much.

      lol it came from six years of getting the hell beat outa me by horses lol... I have thousands of scars from accidents and gettin bucked off or bit or squished... lol... thanks
