Photos hung in the purest of gold,
as I walked along the crowded halls.
I thought to myself, "If this is Heaven,
afterlife won't be so bad after all."
Mama sounded my name to a door,
where my baby siblings sat in perfect play.
Baffled to my terrific surprise,
I was stunned, had nothing to say.
Since infancy was cursed, a dream was near.
staring me kindly in my face.
My father bent and whispered in my ear,
"It's not time for you to be in this place."

The memories of those who have passed on can sometimes creep into our psyche and create a melancholy mood. Other times the fondest thoughts usurp our missing them and we smile. I felt these words, was there with you. If my dad were the one whispering, that would really be uncanny. His passing still holds me in sorrow's grip. Loved this! I wish you well in the challenge.
