A roll filled with bacon is filling
When November weather starts chilling
Each tasty and crunchy edged rasher
Is nicer than foods that are flasher
And rolls are much better than slices
When they're both at similar prices
While others eat burgers or pittas
Or gaze at kebabs next to heaters
Unless I'm most sadly mistaken
The best is a roll filled with bacon!
Please tell me honestly what you think, good or bad.

This is so much fun and as always the rhyme is perfect. I don't think I would eat a roll filled with bacon. You English people eat wierd things.
Love,

Oh dear here your across the pond English defeats the Midwest Yank again. This word "flasher": I'm not familiar with it.
I've never had a roll with bacon in it and if I find a recipe, as I bake my own bread, I'll try it. All I can say is I love traditional British food: the old fashioned pub grub and the old fashioned fare that you read about in books from the middle ages through the turn of the 20 th century. Those foods rich and dear in warm literary associations. When I tried them I was amazed at how cozy and wonderful they taste. Forget the burgers, forget the pittas, forget the abundantly and self consciously posh, give me good old British food, the food that built an empire, the food that ruled the world!

A warm bacon roll eaten in the fresh air ... there's nothing like it for satisfying a mid-day hunger pang!
Wonderful!
