Thy tears flood Olympus

Demeter!

Oh! Mother sweet

Thy corn fields sway clad

Away... Thy poppies vanished

Amid Thy precious gifts

And tears,

Thou tears so bitter flow

Thus maketh Olympus sigh

And Earth becometh Hades

With red blood,  pomegranates

That taste bitter-sweet

Rest Mother.... rest,  before Thy hearth

Below Thine caves, Thine dark domains

Far deep below, Thine silent seas

For life

Stands still...  to Thee

And when time, appears drawing near

For life to spring in joyful song

When waters burst....in labor sweet,

Amid Thy cries...of joy and pain

To all anew...to all anew

Persephone! has  returned

Thou heart shall swell with Summer

Thy precious gifts becometh

Blessings to man and beast.

Demeter

Oh!  Mother sweet.

Blessed be .

Wise words and thoughtful prose...to dry those tears will indeed take a heroic effort by the wise ones born knowing. The mountains' sigh is one of patience, I think, just waiting for a hero.

Wow, this poem is so romantic!
I love that you scribe it in "old school" English, I think that adds tremendously to the effects of the poem.
What an offbeat and amazing take on winter.

This is lovely, I can't wait to see that trophy shining faintly next to it.
