If Chivalry is Dead, Women Killed it

Chivalry had meaning once.
Men treated women right.
They pulled out chairs,
Opened doors,
Sang songs,
Gave gifts.

We pursued beauty.
Because we were made to.
Because we are meant to.
And beauty desires to be pursued.
To be caught up.
To be treasured.

But, women tell us not to.
"I can open my own door."
"Let me pay."
"Stop patronizing me.

They tell us not to pursue
And complain when we don't.
They tell us to be more civil
And complain that there are no more real men.

If chivalry is dead,
Women killed it.

lol, the problem is that I just don't want to be on a pedestal and have never asked to be. There is a difference between a partnership and idolizing someone. I want a partner not someone to worship me. If a man wants open a door for me, fine, but once in a while he should let me open the door for him.
