I mourn for thee, oh, Eros
For succumbing to the power of Thanatos
Love is no lesser god than Death
Yet Death taketh Love to eternal rest.
Thanatos' kiss dips on my lover's lips
And turns the arrows of Cupid into pangs of sorrow
Love, thou have given me the sweet and final sip
Contented, I shall never await the birth of tomorrow.
Love, thou have once taketh me to Zenith
Yet your untimely death sent me down to Hades
And there I will reside till no end.
Now it dawns on my aching mind
Heaven is passing and will never be mine
Love is no more, Hell is here for evermore.
Love is ephemeral
Death is eternal.
**** **** **** **** ****
Do not mourn for my passing on
I smile on you with each breaking dawn
I love you yet, beyond my last breath
Stretching out past the veil of death
Though I feel your heart now rips,
Feel my love into your marrow
Unto this life you are my final grip
You must embrace the coming of tomorrow
Bound to this life you must remain
Pangs of sorrow you must forever restrain
Death unto life can not ever contend.
You are my most precious find
A love for me so completely divine
Think of leaving this life nevermore
I say No, Love is never really fleeting,
And from this life there is no retreating!
