"Promise" second version

I remember the day she was born
Her beautiful blue eyes wide open
An alertness, I had not seen before
God's perfection...at it's best

I made a promise that day
For no matter what come our way
Momma would never go away
I made a promise that day
She would never fall astray
No matter what came our way
She need not worry - will always have security
I made a promise that day
To love her everyday

Author notes

It sounds as though I chopped up this poem too much in my first posting. This is still edited actually, but I believe it to be more clear.

The "promise" is wonderful. I can relate to the responsibility of this promise. This is a gentle and loving poem. Nice job.
