I wait so long
For her,
for her smile,
her laugh,
her beauty,
To shine over me,
I cannot be patient
For much more,
I must speak to her,
I must see her,
I must feel the warmth
Of my heart
Beating for her.
I am so alone
Without her,
I am disconnected,
Distant,
And detached.
My happiness,
cannot strive,
Without her words.
The floor welcomes my body
As I lie
In the darkness.
I stare silently,
Hopeful for the day to pass
And the next to begin.
The time draws closer
Towards the day of joy.
My heart sinks lower
With every second past.
I feel it now,
Beating down in the depths.
‘Absence develops the heart’,
But much longer
And it just might splinter.
