the world slipped away
for just an instant
my heart stopped beating
my breath caught
I was lost...
freezing, numbness
controlling my body and soul
not sure what to think
or even how to react
my heart forgot how to beat
my lungs, how to breathe
I was lost...
I knew for certain
love overcame tribulation
but still the pain crept on me
my heart learned to beat
and breath returned
but I was still lost....
my chest ached
with pounding noise
my breaths came ragged
so hard just to take in simple air
lost in the feelings
of being lost...
