Child,
you are as ungrateful as the pollen to
bees or the sharp october winds,
you are autumn emblazoned on hazed
eyelids full of violet sherbet;
and you need to appreciate the world,
that i have given you.
--
fall to your knees and regress the pitiful
complaints of a rotten apple,
i have loved you when you were sick,
i have cared for you when you were broken
and when you die, i will judge you.
--
feathers flutter and crawl through your lungs,
hold your faith in your heart like fire,
let it consume your oxygen and let me live,
let me breathe, and one day,
we will pray together,
blind faith asks no questions,
and i shall tell you no lies.
--
yours, almighty.
