Silent tears rolling down my cheeks
I try to hide them, no one can see
They all think I'm perfect, without a doubt
But none of them know that although my smile never falters during the day, when darkness falls, the pain always breaks through my facade
Thoughts of you swirl through my head, engulfing my mind with nothing but pain
My scars are so deep, to deep for eyes to see
Memories of you flash inside my head like an old time movie being played to much
The pain is unbearable
I strain my eyes at night just trying to stay awake; behind closed lids, your face awaits
It's been eight long years, and yet, the pain still hasn't gone away
Pain slices through my body when I think of what you did to me
How you abandoned me, with nothing but an alcoholic mom
The scars rip at me day and night, never healing, always bleeding
I wish I could forget your face, forget the way you left me, I wish I could forget the scars you left within me

I could definitely feel your pain in this piece. Being abandoned like that is not an easy thing to deal with, so I must thank you for being strong enough to write about it. So sorry this had to happen to you, I just hope that one day you will forgive them because life is too short to throw all of your love out by replacing it with anger.
