The final plateau of my life
is approaching me,
it seems as if I just began the journey;
so much in between has transpired.
Memories disguise what could have been,
given another chance,
one more day on the playing field
for the sake of what once was.
The final verdict for my performance
is making its way to my approach,
waiting for the last reel on the projector
to play out the ending scenes of my life.
I surmise my evaluation will be graded fairly,
a man who fell short in many areas,
yet presented goodness in others;
simply a human being
and what's wrong with that?

It is fair to say, we all have this phobia about right and wrong
I am of different opinion, what is wrong to me might be right to another
One can never win, so don`t even think of it
Just carry on listening to your concience
A good lelf examination this write is, but the fact that we a human does not give us the right to make tragic mistakes against others, at least.
Well written

Makes for thought
I feel a lot of self-introspection in this poem. The man seems to be somewhat disappointed in himself, but not wanting to settle for it, so he ends with a question. I often feel that poems that end with a question are meant to make the reader think. In this case, it really worked.

Quite well penned my friend. Sometimes I feel we should not reflect so much on our lives because we tend to see where we fell short too easily. What we forget is that we had decisions to make at those times without the benefit of hind sight. As long as we did the best we could with the information we had at hand, what more can we ask of ourselves? Wisdom grows from honest mistakes.
Simply a human being...well said.

Hmm... well, I hope it's this peaceful for me when I know I am getting close to the end... Somehow I doubt I will be... This is great! I love "for the sake of what once was" and I love " a man who fell short in many areas" We all fall a little short don't we? So much regret.... Anyway, awesome as usual!
