The days much shorter in the fall
As weather cools upon the winds
I hear the geese and birds that call
From freezing pools in streams round bends
I walk the old ways I was taught
So smooth and quiet blending in
Observing all while deep in thought
Just one with all, with all a friend
No squirrels bark as I walk by
While scampering through fallen leaves
A doe runs by with buck on heals
Next spring will know if she conceives
Red sun falls fast as I head home
Not too far off a fox appears
Out searching hares as he does roam
I love these times more so these years
Too many seasons I forgot
How wonderful my life is here
Not something that you could have bought
It just some things you must revere
A small part of what is so great
It humbles you and how you feel
So take the walk it’s not too late
Don’t be surprised if you must kneel
This Fall…

sometimes a little solitude and a walk through Nature's bounty is what's needed to recharge the soul and ease our minds. A wonderful stroll through your words today. Well written.

My friend, you just took me on a walk through the mountains and trails of my youth. Thanks for stirring those memories. A very well penned piece of peace here.

This is beautiful and I really love reading it. I live in South Florida so the only Fall I get is when I read poems like this.
Love,

Thank you
It is a small walk we all make alone at some point. We have to hash this out with ourselves. We each lose and we each win in the conversation in our heads.
I really appreciate your taking the time to read and comment.
