The rain collides with my body
like soft, wet bullets
The soggy, blue-gray liquid melting onto the dark surface of my jacket,
drenching my clothes and skin
The motion from the traffic nearby,
leaves a fresh layer of water droplets
to coat my right side, and I shiver
from the wind creeping behind me
and pushing on my back as I walk,
sending a vicious chill where my jacket is left unzipped
A mixture of brisk Autumn and drippy clouds
But I'm almost home
